Join our Family Therapy Group Supervision, facilitated by psychologist Sandy Hunter, for clinicians seeking to deepen their practice. Limited to just 6 participants, spots fill up fast! This closed group fosters a consistent learning environment, where the same attendees convene each month, enabling shared insights and a safe space for open discussion. Held in-person at the Allora Wellbeing Clinic.

Every month offers a chance to engage with peers, dedicating 1 hour to case discussions and 30 minutes to family therapy concepts. Enjoy complimentary Tea, Coffee, and Biscuits.

Meet Sandy

Sandy is a Psychologist and Clinical Family Therapist with over 10 years of experience. Her experience spans working with adults, children and families in variety of settings including; mental health, disabilities and youth justice. Her most recent experience has been working as a child and family therapist supporting families who are experiencing distress within their relationships. Her areas of interest include; working with families and couples to explore their relationships and to enhance their understanding of one another within the family unit.

Sandy has completed her Masters in Mental Health (Majoring in Family Therapy) and currently holds clinical registration with the Australia Association of Family Therapy. This means she has completed additional study and supervision requirements to be recognised as specialising in family therapy.

Sandy is a warm, compassionate and nurturing therapist who values being able to provide a space for people to be heard within their relationship. She aims to create a safe and calm environment where people are able to explore their relationships with themselves and others.

Dyadic Therapy

Join our Dyadic Therapy Group Supervision, facilitated by mental health social worker Alex Olsen. This group is designed for practitioners seeking to enhance their family therapy practice. Limited to just 6 participants, secure your spot now!

In this supervision group, we'll delve into core topics such as strengths-based family assessments, navigating the dynamics of working with different family members, and structuring interventions to foster connection. We'll also explore the art of incorporating playfulness in family therapy and address dilemmas that may arise in child and family work.

This group is perfect for practitioners who work with children and wish to strengthen their family engagement skills. It's also an opportunity to connect with like-minded professionals, extend your knowledge and skills in family assessment and intervention, and enjoy experiential learning - there may even be some play involved!

Meet Alex

Alex is an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker with over 18 years of experience working with adults, children and families.  She has a particular interest in working with people who have experienced complex trauma and enjoys using somatic or body based interventions that support trauma integration, healing and recovery.   Alex has completed training in Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy, Theraplay, Dialetical Behaviour Therapy and Emotional Freedom Therapy (tapping). 

Alex is committed to supporting children to feel connected within their families and a sense of belonging within their broader communities.   Recognising and developing children’s sense of competency and agency is a key goal of her therapeutic framework.

Alex is compassionate and curious, providing a space for people to feel accepted and seen.  As a parent herself, her hope would be for parents to recognise and enhance their strengths so that they can be the parents that they would like to be.
